Since launching on 14th February 2007, things are going very well. I am established in Passion Flower, Tyldesley and have been selling steadily. I consider Adele and her staff to be good friends, she always makes me feel welcome and is always happy to help, not matter how busy she is, her shop is well worth a visit, if you live in and around Tyldesley, Manchester. I made some much needed cash for the CF Trust and the totals are rising. Natalie Cossins from the CF Trust has been updated with the totals so far. Adele has also agreed to stock 'East of India' products for me, to see how they go, its early days but I have made my mark. My cards do compliment Adele's shop, its very modern and up to date, as are my cards, and 'East of India' products seem relatively happy sat in the window with pride of place.
I love making cards and have been busy recently on some samples for a local business, so I am waiting for some news these are unique in their own right and I was very pleased with the outcome the cards looked the part, the comments were 'they were just what I expected' she was really pleased with them, just knowing that someone somewhere is getting pleasure by displaying their card is enough to make me swell with pride.
Out of the blue recently I made an acquaintance via e-bay a lady by the name of May, who has become a friend, she owns a shop and was willing to help me in anyway she could, aren't people nice!! she is now receipt of some of my cards, she has asked for some more to be sent to her craft shop in Glossop and is happy to sell them for me! Thank you May. She also has bought some stock from a previous dissolved business, so once again thank you May, I am very grateful to you.
I am quite excited as I have been toying with the idea of making unique personalised poems, I have been writing now for many years. I have written for a poetry club and for family and friends, recently I composed three one for a 40th in Spain, one for a Christening and another for a special sisters birthday, who is emigrating to Aussie. So after much deliberation I decided that what have I got to lose, I know that my work is making someone smile, so that makes it worthwhile. I discussed it with Dave and May and a close friend and they were all very positive that I at least give it a go. I have purchased a mapped site poemsmadewithlove.co.uk/ which will be run alongside http://www.cardsmadewithlove.co.uk/ and I am in the process of getting this up and running. I will keep you updated as and when my originals framed poems are up for sale! Watch this space.

Cards Made With Love A good news local business story
A local lady who has put her disabilities to one side to focus on building a business that will generate happiness for many - in more ways than one!
“Everyone has a disability of some variety, but it’s what you do with your abilities that can really make the difference”
Launching on the 14th February 2007. Cards Made with Love is a small business owned and operated by Anita Fraser, who has lived and worked all her life in the Salford area. A local lady who as overcome her own disabilities to not only build a business but in turn benefit a charity for people with Cystic Fibrosis (CF).
The core business is creating unique greetings cards, adapting the collectable East of India range, to each individual person, the heart symbol has been chosen to indicate the real message behind our work and is featured throughout the whole company.
Having already gone through one business venture and a recently dissolved partnership, undeterred, Anita says, ‘as one door closes another opens’. She is looking to expand her distribution network, increase sales and further benefit her chosen charity - the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
Natalie Cossins, Regional Fundraising Manager for Greater Manchester said: “We are really grateful to Anita for supporting the CF Trust by adapting and selling these unique cards and products. All funds raised by this exciting venture will help more than 7,500 babies, children and young adults with CF in the UK”

Background information about the lady behind the company.
I am 53 years old, divorced with three grown up children and one grandson living in the Salford area. In 1991 I contracted viral meningitis and have spent the last 16 years poorly and virtually housebound when after being in hospital I contracted ME a very debilitating illness in itself. I have always worked with children and I have always loved meeting new people and enjoy chatting and love a challenge, this keeps my brain active. There have been times in my life when I was a rock bottom, sometimes when I just couldn’t carry on, but I made my mind up not to sit back and let my illness rule my life. For the last 5 years I have been selling on e-bay, not huge amounts but little and often and was surprised how much it became a passion, not so much the selling aspect but literally meeting some great people. I just thrived on having something to get out of bed for, the difficult part was getting the parcels to the post office, but as with challenges where there’s a will there’s a way, I was amazed a members feedback for me, which in turn helped build my confidence no end, I learned a lot from this growing internet market.
My sole aim is to raise as much money as I can for my chosen charity – The Cystic Fibrosis Trust as it is the UK's most common life-threatening inherited disease. They do not receive any government funding whatsoever; they truly rely on public donations. Fundraising is a daunting thankless job, and these people do marvelous work. You can always contact the trust on http://www.cftrust.org.uk/ the Regional Manager is Natalie Cossins who is thrilled about our cards made with love project

About Cystic Fibrosis and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust
The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the UK’s only national charity dedicated to all aspects of Cystic Fibrosis (CF). It funds research to treat and cure CF and aims to ensure appropriate clinical care and support for people with Cystic Fibrosis.
Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is the UK’s most common life-threatening inherited disease. Cystic Fibrosis is caused by a defective gene that clogs the internal organs, especially the lungs and digestive system, with thick sticky mucus resulting in chronic infections and inflammation in the lungs and difficulty digesting food.
Each week five babies are born with Cystic Fibrosis and tragically three young people die – 90% from lung disease. Average life expectancy is just 31.
